Developing Skills At The CognitionX Festival

Our consultant Doron Mazor recounts his experience of the CognitionX Festival he recently attended. 

During the last few days, I’ve had the chance to virtually attend and learn at the CognitionX Festival of AI & Breakthrough Technologies, as talks followed the theme of ‘How do we get the next 10 years right’.

The festival provided a knowledge-sharing platform for industry and academia leading experts in thought-provoking topics surrounding technologies, such as face recognition technologies, neuromorphic computing, the future of networks, and empathetic AI.

I was personally fascinated with discussions on privacy and the balancing of individual rights with technological advances and the benefits that come from the collection of data. We can see the effectiveness of this data collection in areas such as security, but we must also consider the implications of bias in the system, and the injustices these could create. As conversations on privacy resonate through the media, ripples course the industry, as could be seen with IBM’s announcement to withdraw their stake in the facial recognition technology domain.

Expanding Our AI Knowledge 

It was also exciting to learn more about other areas including empathetic AI, neuromorphic computing, edge computing and the role of AI in collective intelligence, areas I expect will continue to grow considerably in the next few years.
